Once EIM has created an account for you within Panopto you'll receive an activation email from Panopto (noreply@panopto.com) containing your username, a temporary password, and a link to sign in.
Click on the Sign-in link in the email, and use the credentials to sign in to Panopto.

Next, you will be directed to create a new password of your choosing and create a security question. |  |
Once logged in, you will be taken to your Home screen. On the Top Navigation bar, you’ll find a search box centered on the page and your account information on the top-right. The column on the left is the Main Navigation Bar. It includes the following sections:
Home: This is the page that your Panopto site will automatically open to when you log in. If selected, you will see a curated selection of videos, including the newest videos on your site in the What’s New section and videos shared with you in Shared with Me.
My Folder: A private sandbox for creating and sharing videos.
Shared with Me: The videos that are shared directly with you or your groups.
Everything: This tab includes every video that you have permission to access on your Panopto site. If you are logged in, and select the Everything tab, you will see a list of publicly available videos on your Panopto site and videos that have been shared with you directly. Note: this tab will be different for each user based on what was directly shared with them.
Browse: When selected, a secondary menu will appear. In it, you can use the search bar to search for a folder, expand the folder tree of folders available to you, and select a folder to view in the content area.
Uploading Videos to Panopto
You can create/upload photos to your personal (My Folder) area or directly to your course.
Uploading to your My Folder
This area is entirely yours to organize and use however you see fit. Notice the option to Add a folder if you’d like to create sub-directories.
To add a video to your folder, click on Create in the top menu bar. Here you can record a video directly into Panopto or upload it to your folder by choosing the Upload media option. You can learn more about all these options here:
Uploading to Your Course Folder
You may choose to use your My Folder as a sandbox to experiment and collect videos. Eventually, you’ll want all videos in a course to be located in the course’s designated folder. Clicking on Browse in the Main Navigation Bar on the left side of the screen will give you a directory view of all folders you have permission to see. Folders are organized as follows:

| Once within your course folder, verified by the folder title at the top of the screen, you can upload it to your course directory by clicking the Create button. |  |
Once your video is uploaded, you can adjust details by hovering over the video and clicking the Edit button.
In the Details section, you can adjust the video’s Title, Description, and tags. |  |
Select Import automatic captions to take advantage of Panopto’s free Closed Captioning service in the Captions section. |  |
