Within Canvas, Proctorio will allow the test takers to review their exams in a proctored environment. After the test taker submits their exam they will have 5 minutes to review the attempt. All exam reviews will display the questions, the answer choices, and any comments that were created by the exam administrator. During these 5 minutes the following settings will automatically be enabled.
- Force Full Screen
- Disable Right Click
- Disable Printing
- Disable Clipboard
If Record Video or Record Screen were enabled this review session will be added to the end of the test taker's exam attempt. Proctorio will also monitor the exam review session for any suspicious behavior, which may be viewed in the gradebook.
Exam reviews have the following options and are set within the Canvas exam settings page:
"Let Students See Their Quiz Responses": Test takers will have 5 minutes to review the exam questions, their answers, and if they answered correctly. After the session the test taker will be able to see these responses when they navigate to that exam page. This is not a secure option, but one that allows the test taker to continuously review their attempts.
"Only Once After Each Attempt": This is the recommended setting by Proctorio. After the test taker finishes their five minute exam review they will not be able to see their responses by navigating back to the exam page. This setting is great when the test taker is allowed to review their exam to understand what questions they missed.
"Let Students See The Correct Answers": The exam review will now not only show the questions and possible answers but it will display the correct answers as well. It is highly recommended that this setting is only used when "Only Once After Each Attempt" is selected as well, in order to prevent distribution of exam answers.
"Only After Their Last Attempt": This is an additional option after selecting "Allow Multiple Attempts". It prevents the test takers from seeing their responses or correct answers until their last attempt. This setting is great to help prevent memorizing answers between attempts and exam distribution.
Exam reviews can be turned off by not selecting any of these settings. "Let Students See Their Quiz Responses" will be selected by default just like it normally is within Canvas.
